The basis for this questionnaire is Carrickfergus Borough Council's Strategic Plan 2008-2012. The plan sets out the framework for the Council to organise its business and allocate priorities across 4 themes, as outlined below:

Goal/Theme 1: Citizenship — “Enhancing our sense of civic pride by communicating with our people, encouraging participation and valuing diversity.”

Goal/Theme 2: Social Progress — “Celebrating our past and creating a brighter future by promoting education, heritage and culture.”

Goal/Theme 3: Environment — “Caring for our environment and creating a sustainable clean and healthy living space for all.”

Goal/Theme 4: Economy — “Supporting sustainable economic growth in the Borough and regenerating the town centre.”

To meet these four goals the Council have developed 16 objectives, which will be achieved through the use of 35 strategies. The Council are interested to discover how both staff and residents of the area rate these objectives and strategies.
